Equine Mortality & Theft

EMO’s Equine Mortality Policy is an all perils life insurance policy for your horse.  You are covered against theft of your horse, or loss from accident, illness, disease, injury or humane destruction.

Major Medical/Vet Services

EMO’s Major Medical Plan for horses is much like your health care insurance plan.  It provides benefits when your horse becomes ill, injured or diseased.  It covers a portion of diagnostic testing, medical treatment and surgical services, as well as aftercare treatment.  Deductibles are reasonable and benefits are generous.  Surgical coverage is also available.

Loss of Use

Your horse is protected with EMO’s Loss of Use (LOU) policy.  It pays you a specified percentage of the insured value of your horse if it becomes permanently unfit for use due to injury, illness or disease, but does not require destruction for humane reasons.  There are two types of LOU: 1) Accidental and 2) Degenerative.  Please contact EMO for further details.

Specialty Policies

EMO also offers customized special policies to cover unique situations.  For example, if your concern is stallion or mare productivity, we offer fertility coverage.  Whatever issue concerns you, just ask your EMO representative about special coverage.
